Josh has been in education since 2001. He started out as a biology and science teacher working for both Jacksonville and Sabine ISDs. He then moved into administration in 2007. His first administrative job was as assistant principal in Gladewater ISD. He then worked as a campus principal for both Carlisle and Leverett's Chapel ISDs. While at Leverett's Chapel ISD, after serving several years as a campus principal, he moved into the admin/business office and became business manager for a short while. In January of 2019, he became the school superintendent at Leverett's Chapel and served in that role until the spring of 2022---having spent nearly 12 years total at Leverett's Chapel. In the spring of 2022, he was hired as the assistant superintendent for Carlisle ISD. In the summer of 2023, he became the superintendent at Carlisle ISD where he presently serves.
He has been married to his lovely wife Amanda for almost 26 years. Amanda has been the head band director for Leverett's Chapel ISD for nearly 25 years. They have two children, Sam who is 21 and Thomas who is 18. Sam is currently attending UT Tyler, majoring in business. Thomas is a senior at Leverett's Chapel and will be graduating as the 2026 LC Salutatorian. He's already been accepted to UT Tyler where he plans to major in business like his older brother. Josh and his wife have resided in Henderson, Texas for most of their lives and are proud graduates of Henderson ISD.
