Gary Howell

Executive Director

Mr. Howell brings over 30 years of experience in insuring public schools and community colleges, backed by a career in education as a former coach, teacher, and administrator.

His firsthand knowledge of the unique risks faced by educational institutions is complemented by his leadership roles, including service on the Tyler ISD Board of Trustees, presidency of the TISD Educational Foundation, chairmanship of Junior Achievement of Tyler, and faculty positions at both the University of Texas at Tyler and Tyler Junior College. He currently serves as a Director of the Cooperative Teachers Credit Union and is active with the Literacy Council.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Howell enjoys traveling, exploring history and genealogy, and spending time outdoors. He holds a B.A. from the University of Texas at Arlington, an M.A. from the University of North Texas, and has pursued postgraduate studies in Educational Administration.
